The Systems and Operations Staff provides assistance with all hardware and operational issues related to machines and systems. Assistance includes, but is not limited to, troubleshooting hardware and software issues to keep resources operating for maximum effectiveness and support for a variety of different operating systems. Systems and Operations Staff also configure and optimize workstations for use.
Each member of the Systems and Operations Staff can provide assistance related to the hardware for which he/she is responsible. These include IBM Power4, SGI Altix, Linux Cluster, Quantum Cube, Linux servers, Sun Solaris, Mac servers, UNIX systems, and Windows.
The Systems and Operations Staff can visit your research group to brainstorm solutions to problems you may have encountered in supercomputing research or to assist in supercomputing technical details for proposals to the Institute.
