Graduate student Hyun-Chul Jung and Professor Seung-Urn Choe of the Department of Earth Science, Seoul National University, Seoul, Korea visited Astronomy Professor Tom Jones at the Institute over the summer. They worked with Professor Jones on high-performance computing research in Astronomy. Their research focuses specifically on the dynamics of young supernova remnants.

Geology and Geophysics Professor David Yuen hosted Asahara Zwase, Satoru Honda, and Tommy Nakakuki from the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences at Hiroshima University, Hiroshima, Japan.
