Computational Biology Consultant

The University of Minnesota Supercomputing Institute seeks to hire a Computational Biology Consultant to join a dynamic group that provides a high level of technical support for researchers at the University of Minnesota Supercomputing Institute.

Qualifications

Duties

Consult with faculty and work closely with other consultants in the user support team and/or research groups to develop streamlined processes, workflows, and database applications for bioinformatics applications.

Write scripts or code to integrate commercial and public domain software and database applications for high-throughput bioinformatics data analysis.

Prepare and maintain documentation to support use of the workflow and database applications developed. Create and present tutorials and workshops on, bioinformatics, genomics and/or proteomic software and database. Take a pro-active approach in communicating the research potential of software and facilities to the University community.

The person who fills this position will also participate in other user support activities of the Supercomputing Institute.

This is an exciting opportunity to participate in a successful program that provides technical support to a broad range of development efforts and applications in computational bioinformatics and genomics.
