The Institute currently provides access to a variety of high performance computing systems. Policies common to these machines can be found on the Core Hardware Policies web page.
Calhoun is a SGI Altix XE 1300 cluster with 256 compute nodes. The nodes are interconnected with a 20-gigabit InfiniBand (IB) network.
Blade is a cluster of 307 IBM BladeCenter LS21 nodes. The nodes are interconnected with a 10-gigabit InfiniBand (IB) network.
Altix is a collection of shared-memory systems including a six-processor interactive node, a 256-processor Altix 3700 BX2 compute node, a 48-processor Altix 3700 compute node, and eight 16-processor Altix 350 compute nodes.
The IBM Power4 system is a cluster of shared-memory nodes. Running the AIX operating system, the nodes are a mix of pSeries 690+ nodes (Regatta) and pSeries 655+ nodes interconnected with an IBM High Performance Switch (HPS) network.
Netfinity is a Linux cluster consisting of 71 compute nodes, one interactive node, and the file server nodes. The nodes are interconnected with a Myrinet network.
