Blade (IBM BladeCenter Linux Cluster) Hardware Information
Bladecenter has 598 AMD Opteron 2218 processors. The 2218 has two 2.6GHz cores with 1MB L2 cache each. These processors use AMDÕs Direct Connect Architecture (DCA) which connects the processors, integrated memory controller and I/O directly to the CPU at full processor speed.

Each node:
- Processors: Two dual-core 2.6 GHz Opteron 2218 processors
- Memory: 8 GB
Network
The four interactive nodes and 284 compute nodes are interconnected with a 10-gigabit non-blocking InfiniBand fabric used for interprocess communication (IPC). The InfiniBand fabric is a high-bandwidth, low-latency network, the intent of which is to accomodate high-speed communication for large MPI jobs. The nodes are also interconnected with two 1-gigabit ethernet networks for administration and file access, respectively.
