Regatta (IBM Power4) Hardware Information
The IBM Power4 system is a cluster of shared-memory nodes. The cluster consists of 23 compute nodes. The processors used in these nodes is IBM's Power4 processor.
Hardware and Configuration
- 23 compute nodes
- 1 interactive node
- 4 file server nodes
- 268 total compute processors
- 552 GB total memory
Specifications for the compute nodes are as follows:
- Four p690 (Regatta) nodes.
- One 1.3 Ghz 32-processor node with 64 GB of memory
- One 1.3 Ghz 24-processor node with 24 GB of memory
- One 1.7 Ghz 30-processor node with 128 GB of memory
- One 1.7 Ghz 32-processor node with 64 GB of memory
- Eight 1.5 GHz 8-processor p655 nodes with 16 GB of memory.
- Nine 1.7 GHz 8-processor p655 nodes with 16 GB of memory.
Network
All of the nodes within the Power4 cluster are interconnected with IBM's High Performance Switch (HPS). The HPS is a very low latency, high bandwidth network with peak performance of 2 GB/second in unidirectional and 4 GB/second in bi-direction bandwidth.
