In order to access X-window applications from your PC or Apple computer,
you need to install ssh (Secure Shell)
and Xwindows emulator on your PC or Apple Computer.
How I Get Started?
Start X-win32 (from Windows) X11, or MI/X (from a Macintosh)
Start ssh. Putty (Windows) or NiftyTelnetSSH (Macintosh).
Login any of Supercomputing Institute's UNIX machine
Type who on the UNIX teriminal to find your machine
name, for example: tornado.msi.umn.edu
Type setenv DISPLAY tornado.msi.umn.edu:0.0
You can enter any UNIX X-Window application command to invoke application such as
netscape.
