Regulation of Human Development

This project investigates the regulation of self-renewal and differentiation of human embryonic stem cells as a model of human development in vitro. For this purpose, the researchers are creating plasmid and viral vectors for use in altering and monitoring differentiation patterns and the maintenance of undifferentiated cells.  They are using shared programs available at the Supercomputing Institute to design and map vectors, keep track of vector maps and sequences, and search sequences and design primers for polymerase chain reaction and sequencing.
