Development of an Improved Avian Pneumovirus Vaccine

These researchers are developing a second-generation recombinant vaccine for avian pneumovirus (APV) infections in turkeys. They are using an infectious molecular clone of APV-C and are introducing mutations in this clone that will attenuate the virus. They are also creating mutations that serve as markers to distinguish the vaccine from the virulent strain. The group is using the BSCL and SCVL for this project.
