Post-transplant Lymphoproliferative Disorder in Solid Organ Transplant Recipients
Post-transplant lymphoproliferative disorder (PTLD) is a devastating complication in solid organ transplant recipients. As a clinical syndrome, the diagnosis of PTLD is often not well characterized, and treatment is largely based on empirical experience. The risk factors, prevention, and pathophysiology of PTLD are only partially understood. This project used a dataset of more than two hundred transplant recipients who developed PTLD from more than 8,000 transplants performed at the University of Minnesota to develop a registry for PTLD. The goal was to better characterize PTLD, to identify risk factors, and to develop prevention and treatment strategies.
