MicroRNA Profiling of Stem Cells

Recent studies have demonstrated that non-coding microRNA are capable of regulating gene expression. These researchers believe that microRNA may play a role in stem cell differentiation and stem cell tumor formation. To test this hypothesis, they have harvested stem cells and tumor stem cells from mice and humans. They are using gene arrays to determine which microRNAs are expressed and are using MSI software for bioinformatic analysis to identify critical microRNA clusters involved in stem cell differentiation and tumor formation.
