Gene Expression Analysis in Barley and Wheat

These researchers use resources at the CGL to study gene expression in barley and wheat. One area of interest is the gene expression profiles of barley and wheat during infection with Fusarium graminearum. F. graminearum infection of barley and wheat causes Fusarium head blight, a major disease in barley and wheat. The researchers are also studying vegetative branching by examining gene expression profiles in four low branching barley mutants and wildtype branching plants. Finally, they are studying the gene expression profiles of barley during malting and a wild barley accession during pathogen infection.
