Characterization of the Global Response of Epithelial Cells to Infection

These researchers are exposing an immortalized vaginal epithelial cell line to various infectious agents, including Staphylococcus aureus and its toxic shock toxin-1. Following exposures, they will obtain and process the total RNA for hybridization to an Affymetrix human genome microarray chip. They are using software at the Supercomputing Institute laboratories to analyze the data.
