Statistical Estimation That Involves Model Selection/Combination

With availability of high-dimensional data in medical research, business and finance, engineering, etc., statistical tools have been quickly developed to handle large datasets in terms of the number of predictors and/or the number of observations. In this project, the researchers explored new statistical methods that are built on model selection or model combination from a computational perspective. In particular, they investigated the real performance of the various methodologies with somewhat different motivations. To that end, they conducted numerical studies in both simulations and real data, which require high computing power in implementation.
