Impulsive Behavior and Impulsiveness in Parkinson's Disease

These researchers are investigating the prevalence of impulsive behaviors and other characteristics in their Parkinson’s disease clinic population. Using this population, the researchers have performed a cross-sectional, questionnaire-based analysis of impulsive behavior and associated personality dimensions, including impulsiveness. This analysis demonstrated that higher scores on the Eysneck Impulsivity Scale are strongly correlated with the presence of impulsive behavior. Importantly, these results support the use of the Eysneck Impulsivity Scale as a potential screening tool for assessing and tracking impulsive behavior in Parkinson’s disease.
