Mechanisms and Host Determinants of Reovirus Cell Entry

This project aims to determine the mechanisms by which reovirus enters and establishes infection within the host cell. As reovirus is currently undergoing phase I/II clinical trials as an oncolytic therapy, this work will aid in determining the safety and efficacy of reovirus as a cancer treatment. Several aspects of our project require microscopy to visualize viral localization and uptake within the cell. The researchers use MSI resources for analysis and interpretation of the widefield and confocal microscopy data obtained from their experiments.
