Molecular Dynamics Simulations of the Troponin Complex

Cardiac troponin I (cTnI) functions as the molecular switch of the thin filament. Studies have shown that a histidine button engineered into cTnI therapeutically protects ionotropic function in the context of numerous pathophysiological challenges. The role of histidine modified cTnI is being assessed in silico by atomic resolution molecular dynamics simulations of WT cTnI and cTnI A164H.
