Pancreas Cyst Fluid Proteomics

Cystic lesions of the pancreas are increasingly diagnosed with modern imaging.  Distinguishing benign, pre-malignant, and malignant cysts is difficult. A protein biomarker that identified cyst histology would be an important clinical tool. Cyst fluid samples have been collected and analyzed with MALDI-MS. Further analysis of the MS data requires pattern recognition software, which will enable samples to be grouped into diagnostic categories in search of specific biomarkers. This project uses the BSCL.
