NMR Metabolomics of Osteoblasts
This research utilizes a single cell line, MC3T3 osteoblastic cells. These cells grow in well-defined chemical and physical environments and thus do not exhibit the complications typical to biofluid 1H NMR metabolomic studies. Prior studies of gravitational effects on osteoblastic cell systems focused on gene response and changes in cell differentiation. However, there are no baseline measurements of osteoblast metabolomics. This metabolomic study is discovery-driven toward finding biomarkers and sample classification at this stage of investigation.
