Protein Engineering

Although enzymes catalyze an amazing range of reactions in nature, they may not suitable for chemical synthesis. Natural enzymes must be engineered to be more stable, to accept unnatural substrates, and even to catalyze unnatural reactions. These researchers use computer modeling to predict the changes required.
