Aerosol Measurement and Aerosol Dynamics

These researchers are interested in the behavior of gasborne particles (aerosols). Their work includes understanding aerosol dynamics (nucleation, coagulation, growth) and transport processes. They use MSI resources to simulate such processes.

The researchers are working on three specific projects: molecular simulations of charging of nanoparticles of different shapes; growth rates of freshly nucleated nanoparticles; and ion transport in the Cluster CIMS (a new mass spectrometer that measures the masses and concentrations of neutral molecular clusters produced by nucleation in the atmosphere).
