Pathogenesis of Avian Influenza Infection in Birds and Humans

The Xing laboratory focuses on the studies of pathogenesis of avian influenza virus infection in birds and humans. They utilize MSI resources for nucleic acid and protein analysis, which are routine in the lab, and pathway analysis such as Ingenuity Pathway (IPA). These studies provide important insights for the understanding of how avian influenza virus induces immune responses and causes pathogenicity in birds and how the similar symptoms could also occur in humans.
