Magnetic Modeling

Most motor and generator designs have two-dimensional symmetry about their drive shafts, so that only simple two-dimensional finite element method (FEM) calculations are required for modeling. However, some motor and generator designs have completely non-symmetrical three-dimensional rotor and stator magnetic interaction, so that complete three-dimensional FEM calculations are required. This project uses Maxwell 3D and HFSS software to analyze magnetic fields and torques of three-dimensional motor-generators.
