Metabolic Network Analysis

All organisms, from prokaryotic to mammalian, share a similar central metabolism. This metabolic core functions as a highly optimized machinery that supplies cellular building blocks. The Libourel laboratory is interested in the design principles of this core metabolism. The aim is to discover novel metabolic function by understanding what metabolism has been optimized for. This knowledge is brought into practice by determining which parameters should be considered in metabolic engineering efforts.
