Mutational Identification in Arabidopsis by Illumina Whole-Genome Sequencing

The Ni lab is working on two important mutants in Arabidopsis thaliana. Both mutants are hypersensitive to lights at certain wavelengths. By studying these two mutants, new genes that regulate light responses in plants are identified. To find out the mutation points, the whole-genome sequences are compared with wild-type ones. Both mutants are sequenced by Illumina Hiseq-2000, and the data generated by BMGC is already available.

This project uses Galaxy bioinformatics software and other computational resources available through MSI for sequence data analysis, including sequence data transfer, short reads alignment, assembly, and sequence comparison.
