Mathematical Modeling of Biological Systems

These researchers are involved in several projects related to modeling biological systems. Specific projects include: continuous models for spontaneous actin waves in post-Lantrunculin A-treated Dictyostelium cells; modeling of microorganisms swimming in viscous and viscoelastic fluids; hybrid models for tumor growth and other applications; quantitative analysis of BMP signaling in Drosophila melanogaster; and using a stochastic approach to investigate actin wave formation and propagation in a substrate-attached cytoplasm membrane.
