Analysis of Data From the Keck/SPUD Telescope

The Keck/SPUD telescope is a world-class cosmic microwave background experiment at South Pole in Antarctica. The objective of the current investigation is to detect gravity waves spawned a tiny fraction of a second after the Big Bang in a period of hyper expansion known as “inflation.” Large amounts of data are generated daily through the winter observing season and transferred to North America via satellite. The analysis process is very computationally intensive, involving generation of hundreds of simulations of the complete dataset.
