Properties of Semiconductor Materials and Devices

These researchers are calculating the electronic structure and electronic transport characteristics of semiconductor materials and novel devices. In previous periods, their work centered on electron transport simulations for large band-gap III-nitride materials and carbon nanotubes using the Monte Carlo technique. Recent and continuing work has focused on organic semiconductor devices and on ZnO. Currently, they are investigating transient phenomena associated with charge carrier trapping in organic semiconductors. They are focusing on the creation of device models for new semiconductor devices, on particular devices fabricated from organic materials, and on spintronic devices based on graphene. An additional project involves simulations of quantum dot light emitting diodes.
