Pathogenesis of Avian Influenza Infection in Birds and Humans

The Xing laboratory studies the pathogenesis of avian influenza virus infection in birds and humans. They utilize MSI resources for nucleic acid and protein analysis as well as pathway analysis such as Ingenuity Pathway (IPA). These studies provide important insights into how the avian influenza virus induces immune responses and causes pathogenicity in birds and how similar symptoms could also occur in humans.
