Advanced Numerical Algorithms for Scattering Simulations
This project includes the verification and validation of advanced numerical procedures being developed by this group in connection with simulations of wave scattering processes. Specifically, this project relates to applications in plasmonics and ultrasound vibro-acoustography. In both areas, initial algorithmic design and testing is being pursued at a small scale on personal and departmental computers. Resources at MSI enable sequential and parallel implementations of the underlying codes (both on GPUs and CPUs) to allow for the computationally intensive evaluations that underlie the simulation of realistic configurations of practical significance.
