Antiviral and Anticancer Drug Design
This group's work primarily focuses on design, synthesis and bioevaluation of small organic molecules for antiviral drugs treating HIV, hepatitis B virus (HBV), cytomegalovirus (CMV), influenza, West Nile virus (WNV), and Dengue virus (DENV). They also conduct research targeting a new enzyme called TDP2, which is involved in DNA repair and implicated in cancer therapy. The group's chemistry approach on these projects often involves structure-based design of inhibitors, virtual screening, homology modeling, and other methods.
