These researchers are involved in several bioinformatics projects:
• Generating and analyzing RNA-seq data from several cell lines engineered to overexpress transcription factors (specifically DUX4, Mesp1, SCL, LMO2 and GATA2) in response to doxycycline, which allows the researchers to identify downstream targets of these factors.
• Performing single cell RNA-seq in both differentiating pluripotent cells, as well as in mouse skeletal muscle stem cells.
• Using next-gen sequencing to determine DNA-binding specificities of transcription factors.
• Performing studies using publically available sequence data, searching for evidence of transcription of a repetitive element in the human genome named D4Z4.
This work mainly requires Galaxy bioinformatics tools and workflows.
