Gene Expression Changes From PaxGene Blood Samples During Severe Malaria
The goal of this project is to determine differential gene expression during cerebral malaria and during severe malarial anemia. Total RNA has been purified from blood samples taken from Ugandan study subjects. These study subjects were enrolled in the study as either community controls with no malarial infection or they presented with either of the two forms of severe malaria. To date, RNA samples have undergone gene expression analysis with the Illumina Whole-Genome Gene Expression Direct Hybridization Assay. These researchers use MSI software for microarray data analyses.
