Modeling Flow Dynamics in Microfluidic Devices
This group is developing new designs for micro free-flow electrophoresis devices. These are unique flow-through devices that provide continuous microscale separations. The group is exploring applications of these devices including aptamer isolation, neuroscience monitoring, and multidimensional separations. They use MSI resources to predict fluid dynamics in new designs, greatly decreasing the trial and error necessary to develop a new device. In particular they plan to develop micro free-flow electrophoresis devices more compatible with isoelectric focusing.
