NPY and Stress-Induced Obesity
This study aims to understand effect of stress on obesity, especially the role of Neuropeptide Y (NPY). Part of this research involves measuring mouse body fat using techniques such as Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and/or micro-computed tomography (microCT). Software at MSI is used for processing the dicom images obtained from MRI/CT. Fat deposited in subcutaneous, perigonadal, perirenal, mesentric, pericardial, and subscapular regions would be measured. It is known that every fat has a different metabolic role. These studies would indicate which fat is affected the most in stress-induced obesity.
