Regulation of Drug Metabolizing Enzyme and Transporter Expression
Hepatic Expression Patterns of Genes Associated With Drug Metabolism
The liver plays an important role in metabolizing drugs, but wild-type expression levels of many of the genes (and their transcript isoforms) involved in drug metabolism is poorly understood. Understanding how the expression of these genes changes due to factors including gender and age will help to understand the differences in drug metabolism rates between individuals. Identification of SNP variants in the data may also provide useful insights into the factors affecting expression changes.
