Project Title:
Grape Breeding

This project involves grapevine genetics and genomics for cultivar development. The project develops genetic maps utilizing software such as GenomeStudio (for SNP calls), JoinMap, MapQTL, and FlexQTL. The researchers use advanced QTL mapping software such as FlexQTL, MapQTL, and R for genetic mapping of important traits. In addition to QTL mapping, the project utilizes genomic resources for the identification and investigation of candidate genes, genetic sequences, and analysis. The researchers may also use MSI resources to manage digital images for a phenotyping protocol evaluating color and cluster architecture in grape.
