Project Title: 
Hybridizable Discontinuous Galerkin Methods for Partial Differential Equations

These researchers are using MSI for three ongoing projects:

  • Working on new post-processing techniques for finite element methods to achieve high-order convergence.
  • Combining sympletic time-stepping methods with Hybridizable Discontinuous Galerkin (HDG ) space discretization for time-dependent problems. 
  • Working on adaptive stabilization for HDG methods.

All of these projects involve extensive programming. The researchers plan to prototype their numerical methods in MATLAB and implement them in Fortran 90/C++ for large-scale computation. In addition, they will visualize their numerical results in TECPLOT.
