Project Title:
Genetics of Infectious Agents That Impact Humans, Animals, Plants, and the Environment

This group's research focus is to use MSI resources in the exploration and involvement of genetics in human disease and other infectious agents that impact the environment. As personnel safety and environmental protections are a major concern of the Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC), and as the IBC reviews agents that are used to transfer recombinant or synthetic nucleic acids into host cells, or the simple use of genetically engineered agents/cells/organims, it is important to have resources that can be used by committee members to explore the risks associated with different research projects.
