Project Title:
Crime and Lending

This project examines the effects of crime on bank lending outcomes. Using detailed incident-level crime data across a number of different cities combined with location-specific bank lending data, these researchers are exploring how crimes impact the supply and demand of credit in a granular geographic area with respect to mortgages and other types of loans. Their approach aims to disentangle the effect of credit supply and demand in ascertaining how crime affects lending.
