Associate Professor Michael Walters

The Walters group works on medicinal chemistry projects that support translational medicine at the University of Minnesota. Their current work includes therapeutics or probes for muscular dystrophy, Alzheimer's disease, cardiac valve calcification, and brain cancer. They also work closely with other groups in the Institute for Therapeutics Discovery and Development. For example, they use MSI resources to perform high-throughout screening triage for the HTS Core. They make extensive use of the Schrodinger software suite on the Alzheimer's disease project.
