A New Assistance Center for Federal Energy and Environmental Funding
The University of Minnesota has received a grant from the Environmental Protection Agency to establish an Environmental Justice Thriving Communities Technical Assistance Center. A $10 million grant is being spread across six states to establish “one-stop shops” for rural, tribal, and underserved communities to get assistance accessing federal funding for energy and environmental improvement efforts. The U of M’s center will cover Minnesota and five other states.
MSI PI Gabe Chan (associate professor, HHH Center for Science, Technology, and Environmental Policy) is one of the co-leaders of this project. The other co-leaders are Associate Professor Bonnie Keeler, also of the Humphrey School, and U of M Extension Dean Stephen Jeanetta.
