On Wednesday, March 6, 2019, MSI staff will perform scheduled maintenance and upgrades to various MSI systems. Primary Storage, Mesabi, and Itasca will be unavailable throughout much of the day.
A global system reservation will start at 5:00 a.m. on March 6. Jobs that cannot be completed before 5:00 a.m. on March 6 will be held until after maintenance and then started once the system returns to production status.
March maintenance will include:
- Mesabi OS updates
- Itasca OS updates
- Windows OS updates
- Lab Queue upgrade from CentOS 6.10 to CentOS7.6
- Following this upgrade, the Lab Queue and Mesabi will run CentOS 7.6. CentOS 6.10 will remain on Itasca until the system is retired.
As a reminder, MSI has decommissioned software modules for compilers and supporting libraries that were released in June 2015 or earlier. The list of impacted modules can be found here.
Users may need to recompile any software that they built against one or more of these modules using a newer version.
Systems status is always available on our Status page.
