Understanding Rare Diseases

Rare Disease Day was observed on February 28 in the medical community. The purpose of the day is to generate discussion about rare diseases, the people affected by them, and healthcare systems that treat them. MSI PI Troy Lund (associate professor, Pediatrics; Institute for Engineering in Medicine) was interviewed recently by the Medical School’s “Talking...with U of M” online series: Talking rare diseases with U of M.

Professor Lund uses MSI resources for research that ultimately seeks to develop a better understanding of how oxidative stress affects erythroid progenitors and mitochondrial function.
