Data Protection Policy

Policy Compliance

The Minnesota Supercomputing Institute (MSI) complies with University of Minnesota policy. The following policies provide additional structure. All MSI users are required to comply with these policies.

Policy Statement

MSI will make a best-effort attempt to keep all scratch and non-scratch data secure and free of corruption. It is the responsibility of the user to assure that data which is produced or consumed is corruption-free and that the data protection offered by MSI is adequate to meet any internal or external storage requirements.

MSI provides shared data areas where all members of a group can be granted access. Ultimately, all data is owned by the group PI who can control sharing aspects of the data. Non-shared data areas where access is limited to a given user may be managed by the user’s PI.
