Data Storage Policy
The Minnesota Supercomputing Institute complies with University of Minnesota policy. The following policies provide additional structure. All MSI users are required to comply with these policies.
Storage is a finite and valuable resource. Storage provided to University users by the Minnesota Supercomputing Institute is solely intended to support the High Performance Computing mission of the Institute.
MSI configures its storage systems with performance in mind, and hence its resources are neither optimized for, nor should be used for, long-term storage of an archival nature. Users requiring largely passive, long-term archival storage should consider using the central resources provided by the Office of Information Technology.
Storage on Koronis is local only to Koronis. A user is allocated a home directory and, optionally by request, group space. See our Koronis documentation for more information.
