Analysis of Single-Cell and Whole-Tissue -Omics

This work addresses how gene expression is controlled and corrupted at the level of ribosome recruitment to mRNA, designated translational control. The researchers focus on two diseases: lung scarring in humans and dogs (idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis); and cancer (lung and breast). In both diseases, translational control of gene expression is corrupted. These studies examine this issue in whole tissue from patients and appropriate controls and in cells at the single-cell level (single cell transcriptomics and single cell mass-cytometry).
