Hybridizable Discontinuous Galerkin Methods for Partial Differential Equations
These researchers are using MSI for three projects.
- Devising superconvergent Hybridizable Discontinuous Galerkin methods (HDG) for various partial differential equations on general polyhedral elements.
- Refining the current HDG methods for nonlinear elasticity equations to improve the stability and efficiency.
- Working on new post-processing techniques for finite element methods to acheive high order convergence.
All of these projects involve extensive programming. The researchers plan to prototype their numerical methods in MATLAB and implement them in Fortran 90/C++ for large scale computation. In addition, they will visualize their numerical results in TECPLOT.
