Comparative Genomics and Genome Wide Nuclease Binding Sites Computation for Large Animals
This group focuses on disease modeling for both human and animal using enhanced integrative methods for livestock genomes, primarily cattle and swine. They are also building a pipeline for computing the non-off-target CRISPR/Cas system for pig and cattle for genome engineering purpose. MSI resources are used primarily for two purposes: integrative analysis of high-throughput sequencing data and whole genome sequencing data; and computation of the specificity of nuclease binding sites of certain genome engineering tools such as CRISPR/Cas and TALENs.
