Signal Processing and Optimization for Communications, Smart Grids, and Social Networks
This group’s research interests lie in the areas of statistical signal processing, wireless communications and networking, detection and estimation, time-series analysis, and system identification. Past areas have included (poly)spectra, wavelets, cyclostationary, and non-Gaussian signal analysis with applications to equalization, sensor array, and image processing. Current research topics focus on sparsity in signals and systems, cognitive radios, network coding, cross-layer designs, wireless sensor networks, smart grid, mobile ad-hoc networks, and social networks. The group uses MSI resources for performing intensive simulations to verify analytical findings and innovative algorithmic solutions.
